Student Awards

The Meetings Industry Association invites you to nominate winners for the mia Conference and Event Management Student Awards 2017.

The mia is celebrating its 27th year having been established in 1990 as a recognised body for the benefit and advancement of the meetings Industry. As the leading association in the industry, the mia is committed to continual improvement of quality and standards and is a steadfast supporter of the provision of education and training. These awards aim to recognise excellence in universities and are open to undergraduate and postgraduate students who have performed at the highest level at selected institutions.

How the awards scheme works:

The mia Conference and Event Management Award is open to students who have completed a degree level (e.g. BA/BSc or MA/MSc) conference/event management course. We are seeking one nomination at each level.

Nominations are submitted by each invited institution (usually in summer for undergraduates and autumn for postgraduates). The mia defers to the institution to determine how the best students qualify (normally best marks) and will accept this; there is no further judging process.

The award prize:

Each winner will receive a personalised framed certificate produced and branded by the Meetings Industry Association and a voucher to the value of £400 to be used by the winner to attend a wide range of professional development events as featured in the extensive mia programme (terms and conditions will apply).

What to do next:

Please contact the Meetings Industry Association by email (Fatima@mia-uk.org) to acknowledge receipt of the invitation and to confirm your intention to nominate one Undergraduate and one Postgraduate student and to advise us when we can expect to receive details of your nominees.

We will require Undergraduate nominations before 30 June 2017 and Postgraduate nominations before 31 October 2017. The mia will confirm receipt and acceptance of each nomination within 2 weeks of these deadline dates.

We look forward to recognising the achievement of your winning students.
