MIA's Event Safety Measures

COVID Safety Measures

Our priority is the health and safety of our attendees. The mia continually follows the official guidance from the UK Government, and to ensure confidence in attending an mia event, all event safety measures will be highlighted prior to attending. All requirements and expectations of attendees will be communicated ahead of an event based on the current guidelines at that time.

Pre-Event:

  • We will keep up-to-date information on our event websites pertaining to the status of the event, and precautions for attendees onsite.
  • We will send email communications to registered event participants with any pertinent updates leading up to the event.
  • You will be sent your event ticket with a QR code in advance of the event. Please ensure you bring this with you on the day.

Onsite:

  • We will provide sanitisation stations onsite at the event with alcohol-based hand sanitizer throughout the venue.
  • We will provide signage onsite encouraging attendees to practice respiratory hygiene.
  • Covering your mouth and nose with a flexed elbow or tissue (not hands) when coughing or sneezing.
  • Avoid touching your hands, nose, and mouth to avoid transferring germs from surfaces.
  • Wash your hands frequently with an alcohol-based sanitizer and/or soap and water.
  • We will ask the venues we use to regularly sanitise all surfaces throughout the event space.
  • We will be sanitising speaker microphones between each speaker’s use.
  • mia Staff and attendees will be encouraged to wear face coverings throughout the venue.
  • The mia will adopt a contact-free registration system.
  • The venue will be operating a Thermal Imaging Camera on entry to the venue that will take the temperature of staff and guests, anyone showing a temperature of 38 or above will not be permitted into the venue.

We Ask Attendees To:

  • Wash hands frequently.
  • Cough or sneeze into elbows only.
  • Stay home if they are sick or experiencing any cold/flu-like symptoms for their own safety and the safety of others.
  • Seek medical care right away and alert our staff at registration should they begin to experience cold or flu-like symptoms (fever, cough, trouble breathing) onsite.
  • Encouraged to wear a face-covering throughout the venue.
  • Arrive at the event with your QR ticket available to support our contact-free registration system (badge can be presented on an electronic device)

We will continue to regularly check the latest official information leading up to the event and encourage our event participants to do the same.
