The new standard for sustainable meetings & events
For over 25 years Green Tourism has assessed and accredited the sustainable practices of businesses, leading to the recent launch of Green Meetings - a new standard specific to meetings and events venues.
Since launching in 2021, almost 100 mia members are already using the Green Meetings standard to provide reassurance to buyers and drive the messages that their organisation is making a valid investment into sustainable operations and practices.
The Green Meetings standard
The Green Meetings standard is achieved at gold, silver or bronze, and is assessed online against a strict three-pillar sustainability criteria through Green Tourism's GreenCheck™ platform.
The criteria, which focuses on people, places and planet, will allow you to easily identify and measure sustainable practices and will be examined by independent assessors. Driving best sustainable practice, the elements within this criteria are all-encompassing, ranging from energy, water, and waste through to catering, procurement and travel, as well as awareness, communication and community involvement.
