Event Summary

The South Asian events industry can be a lucrative new revenue stream for venues.  However, it’s not an easy sector to break into and there are several factors venues need to consider before entering this niche market. With so many specialist companies operating across this culturally diverse sector, one of the biggest challenges venues face is identifying the right suppliers to work with.  Managing Director of specialist South Asian events company Monsoon Venue Group and founder of the Midland Asian Wedding Awards, Pav Shergill, will be talking about the key challenges venues face managing South Asian events and giving an insight into supplier working practices.

At the end of the day you will:

  • Have a clear understanding of both the challenges a venue can come up a against when entering into this market and the solutions and tools necessary to overcome these tasks.
  • A broader understanding and appreciation of the differences between different religions and regions within the South Asian wedding industry.
  • An understanding of the differences a venue may come across when working with suppliers from the South Asian wedding industry, and how to identify the best suppliers for your particular venue or services

Very informative and useful. As a large venue already hosting South Asian events it was interesting to find out what else we could and should be doing. Pav was excellent.

Jamie Screen, Grand Harbour Hotel

I originally signed up just for the networking opportunity, but was pleasantly surprised how useful the workshop actually was. Will be returning for future Business Breakfasts.
