Pre Assessment Visits Available Now for all Venues AIM'ing Higher

The MIA is able to offer venues 2 choices of style of a half day pre assessment visit; one more venue led, the other more assessor led. The style of the visit is very informal, ‘information giving’, encouraging and supporting.

Venue led pre assessment visit
The assessor will score a provisional Achieving Service Excellence entry and highlight areas to strengthen the application. This is for the assessors use only to see where  feedback may be given.

During the visit the venue will lead on the areas of concern and questions they have. The assessor, based on the information in the provisional forms, and some observation of on site documentation, will seek to clarify the way forward for the venue.

Depending on the strength of the application the assessor may use the process, or part of the process as appropriate, for an assessor led pre assessment visit. 

The assessor will confirm in writing the points discussed along with the recommended action points within 5 days.

Assessor led pre assessment visit
The assessor will score the provisional Achieving Service Excellence checklist. Again this is for the assessors use only and as a guide to see any initial areas for feedback. Through discussion and ‘some’ visual inspection of on site documentation, the assessor will use the checklist to identify gaps in these key business procedures:
                                   
a) Business plan
b) Customer service policy/strategy
c) Staff training
d) Resource management
e) Market research
f) Risk assessments
g) Maintaining the customer environment
h) Leadership and management
i) Booking and contract procedures
j) Pricing and payment procedures
k) Service delivery

The assessor will look for some evidence, within the time available, that in each of the above areas: a) A procedure is in place b) The procedure is implemented c) Results are gathered and evaluated and d) Actions are taken.

The venue will be able to discuss any additional questions with the assessor and include, if required, a check on one conference room against facilities grading.

The assessor will confirm in writing the points discussed along with the recommended action points within 5 days.

This service is charged at cost at £375 (excluding VAT) per assessment.
