Over the past three months Royal Armouries (International) plc has hosted a number of increasingly high-profile events, including a speech by Bank of England governor Mervyn King that was televised across the world, a Children in Need event with Terry Wogan, Yorkshire cricketer Darren Gough’s testimonial dinner, and a launch event for the University of Huddersfield featuring Theo Paphitis from the BBC’s Dragons’ Den. Towards the end of November 2008 in a move described by Gordon Brown as ‘bringing the cabinet to the heart of Yorkshire’, the prime minister met with senior colleagues for round-table discussions in Royal Armouries (International) plc’s main venue Saviles Hall (capacity 300 - 1500). Saviles Hall was picked by the Government’s Central Office of Information because of its prestige, size and flexibility. In the afternoon Mr Brown and his cabinet walked across the square to the Royal Armouries Museum to hold a historic cabinet meeting in the venue’s Wellington Suite which is one of the many rooms available for conferencing and banqueting (room capacities start from 6 - 1000) www.rai-events.co.uk. Gary Verity, CEO of Yorkshire Tourist Board, said: ‘It is a great honour for the region to have hosted this momentous visit. The RAI team at Saviles Hall and the Royal Armouries Museum are experts in delivering conferences and events.”
James Vincent, MD of Royal Armouries (International) plc, said: “We are aiming to achieve Gold accreditation with the MIA as this will benefit both RAI and our clients by ensuring that we deliver the highest levels of customer service in a consistent manner! “Our business has grown significantly with ‘Investors in People’ and as members of the MIA we hope accreditation will ensure further growth whilst maintaining our focus on delivering our customers' event whether this is the PM Gordon Brown, Bank of England governor Mervyn King or Cricketing Legend Darren Gough. Simply put “We aim to deliver our clients vision!” |
