Booking Agent Team Award
Avenue Events (South) Ltd is a dynamic full service event management and venue finding agency operating across a wide range of sectors and event types. Our team are experts at capturing the essence of your brand, business or you personally. We build strong and long-standing relationships with our customers and suppliers. Above all we bring passion and determination to the table and we are known for being great people to do business with – by our clients, trusted suppliers and competitors.
Brief2Event consists of a fun, vibrant and enthusiastic group of 13 event professionals, who believe in the business and support each other to create an engaging and productive atmosphere across their venue finding, accommodation and events departments.
Consistent year on year growth, in line with sales targets, has seen Brief2Event expand its client base through organic sales and acquisition. The agency predicted continued growth in accommodation, venue finding and full event management and it has achieved that, counting clients from the retail and pharmaceutical sectors as repeat customers. The agency also just announced it is on target to increase its turnover by 22% in 2017, having already exceeded last year’s turnover in the first six months of this financial year. The company does not have a board, and so is not bound to external influences when considering profits, or decisions; it is a group effort.

Based in the North East but operating globally, Hospitality Guaranteed provides a one stop shop for corporate events, conference and accommodation needs.
The team delivers a consistently high level of service and goes above and beyond to negotiate cost effective rates for clients. Not only working hard for their clients, the team also strive to develop and reward each other through their ‘Star of the Quarter’ awards, as well as taking part in a wide range of charity fundraising activities which recently included a boat race and four peaks challenge.
Inntel: Meetings & Events Team
I would love people to vote for my team as they do an amazing job day in, day out providing an excellent service to our clients. The Inntel meetings and events team goes the extra mile and further for both our clients and our suppliers to find solutions that are the best option for all involved. Their ability to adapt to clients’ requests and think outside the box is inspiring and it’s a pleasure to work with such a dynamic group of people.
As a company we recognise them for the powerhouse they are internally, so it’s great to have the opportunity to celebrate their achievements with external awards too.

We deserve to win the team award because we convert an intimate understanding of our clients’ needs into consistently tangible results regardless of event size, scale or delegate profile. We fulfil every brief seamlessly because our team prides itself on meticulous attention-to-detail. We take personalisation to a new level to deliver the ultimate delegate experience. For example, we make sure we know everything about our delegates’ personal tastes and share that knowledge with the venues we use. One of our team even slept in one hotel room the night before an event to make sure it was quiet enough for one particularly light sleeper.

The Venues of Excellence team are delighted with the progress made over the last 12 months, strengthening the brand, increasing member engagement and receiving excellent feedback from our member venues and venue find clients.
GROWTH – It has been a really successful year, increasing our membership by over 31%, with 12 new members in 12 months enhancing our diverse range of venues, and in turn, provides a 20% increase in our overall marketing spend for the next membership year.
MEMBER BENEFITS – Our Membership Engagement process has been improved with a dedicated Membership Manager, making us more responsive and helping to deliver great initiatives to our Members. With the relaunch of our Preferred Partner programme, we have seen an 81% retention, offering a range of benefits to our member venues, with fees supporting the marketing of the consortium.
EDUCATION – Launching a Learning & Development Academy delivered by industry experts, in the first 12 months we have trained over 140 delegates.
EVENTS – Our member events are excellent networking opportunities with high quality industry guest speakers and our Annual Conference received excellent feedback on its content and delivery as a leading conference within the hospitality industry.
SALES & MARKETING INITIATIVES – We have seen a fantastic increase in referrals from venues with conversions to members, implementing a Conference Agency & Association awareness working parties has promoted our venues nationally, and our attendance at key Trade Shows with member stand partners has increased the awareness of Venues of Excellence to the MICE sectors.

We do think that they are a beacon for the hospitality and event industry, proving that the industry can be more ethical when you have the right – loving – team behind you.
London Capital Club – Sales Team
Dedicated and hard working team and also an essential team of the club. They are always willing to go the extra mile, greatly improved customer satisfaction, with maintaining good standards and repeat business. The whole team with the F&B and the kitchen team coming together to drive this sales. They have been absolutely fantastic with turning things round. With their hard-work and dedication the club has got into a good position and we want this to continue as a team.
The whole team is focused on getting repeat business and to keep on trying new techniques so that the customers and the clients leave the club with high satisfaction. Its the hard work of the sales team to get business in, the F&B department to satisfy the customer with high standard of servicing and kitchen team to give their best.
Searcys at The Gherkin – Sales Team
The newly formed sales team at the Gherkin have hit the ground running. Looking after both the private dining rooms, the main event space in the Gherkin’s famous dome as well as the restaurant and bar the sales team are responsible for driving business into all areas. With a strong work ethic, enthusiasm and the pure joy of working in one of London’s most iconic building the sales team move from strength to strength, pushing targets and delivering world class customer service.
Towcester Racecourse – Hospitality Team
Our team manage their work exceptionally well together, from initial point of contact through to service delivery and the final goodbye at the end of the event. Our team remains diligent in their roles, consistently providing a professional, polite and bespoke service to each of our guests and this service is delivered seamlessly throughout the customer journey.
The Towcester team was recruited for attitude and personality 27 months ago with an average age of 17 for the majority this was their first job and for a few it has become their career Tom, Kieran And Rosie pictured on the front row joined in November 2014 and have worked their way through to be full time members of the hospitality team whom are responsible for £2m catering sales a year .

I was given this amazing opportunity when I joined the team, and set out to develop a food and service offering that surpassed other sporting venues. Service was to be seamless with my team to exceed guest expectation at every level this award would be well deserved and a great accolade for them to achieve.
York Conferences – Conference Team
The York Conferences team are dedicated to delivering fantastic events and are continuously complimented on their attention to fine detail and how much time and care they take in listening to exactly what is required. However, it is what happens behind the scenes that really makes their work stand out from other companies. They pride themselves on helping The University of York take care of its environment and do everything they can to keep it green and look after the campus wildlife. Each morning the squirrels, wild rabbits and birdlife are fed and looked after and even in holiday periods the staff members come in to make sure that they don’t go short. Green checklists are provided with each contract to encourage our customers to ‘go green’ and continuous ideas such as our ‘bee and bug’ hotel are introduced to keep the surroundings thriving. Delegates continuously mention how stunning the campus is and how the scenery and wildlife add a special and unique touch to their event without realising the work that has gone in to keeping the environment that way. I honestly felt it was my duty to bring this to everyone’s attention at MIA as I truly believe that they deserve this award for going above and beyond.
