Since its formation in 1990, the mia has been encouraging the development and sharing of best practice for all organisations involved in the meetings industry.  The association has developed into the official body for organisations committed to improving the standards of the UK meetings industry.

The mia promotes the very highest standards and our members have all achieved accreditation with AIM.  AIM is the industry's only accreditation scheme, it demands legal compliance,  a meetings facilities grading and includes adherence to the Meetings CODE (Consistency, Openness, Decency, Ethics) the code of practice recognised by the industry which exemplifies the essence of good practice in the industry.

OUR COUNCIL

The mia has a voluntary Board of Directors and Council elected annually by the members.  The Board and Council freely give of their time and are committed to ensuring that the association drives up the standards of the UK meetings industry.
