John Turpin, interim general manager at EEF Venues’ AIM Gold accredited Woodland Grange conference venue in Leamington Spa, completed the 10K Wolf Run on 3rd September in aid of Myton Hospices for the third time.

Accompanied by his wife, Sarah, the dynamic duo completed the 10K run across natural terrain on the outskirts of Leamington Spa.

The couple took it all in their stride, and in doing so, they have raised over £530 for Myton Hospices to date – just over half-way to their fundraising target of £1,000.

The run features ten tough obstacles including ‘The Muddy Sucker’ – where the participants have to wade up to their waists through thick mud. They also had to scale a climb wall, swim across a lake and crawl through a series of dark, water filled, tunnels.

Well used to handling the operational challenges of an award-winning venue, Leamington man, John said: “It’s a tough run, designed to test your mental and physical strength, skill and stamina. It’s my third time completing the run and it doesn’t get any easier!

“You just have to focus on why you are doing it and the benefits it will bring to Myton Hospices, which provides invaluable care and support to patients and their families when they need it most.”
