The Meetings Industry Association (mia) is gearing up to celebrate excellence across the meetings industry and honour the individuals who go above and beyond the call of duty at next Friday’s miaList.
This year’s awards ceremony, now in its seventh year, will reveal the lucky award winners of seven individual and three team awards and recognise them for their hard work.
Among the shortlisted finalists, which can all be found listed on the mia’s website, are multiple examples of major achievements and successes. They include a wedding and events co-ordinator who has doubled the number of weddings at their employer’s venue in a year, a head chef who has dramatically lowered high staff turnover in his hotel’s kitchen and an events co-ordinator who regularly pulls in £100k of bookings at the hotel she works at.
Award categories honour events and meetings professionals in the areas of leadership, rising star, conference and events, sales, back of house, food and beverage production and marketing with judges making the agonising final choice from the strong shortlist. Finalists in the three team categories – Agency, Supplier and Venue – were voted for by peers online.
Attendees at the awards ceremony will not only be among the first to find out who the winners are, but will also have the chance to rub shoulders with the industry’s most talented individuals, plus find out how they have achieved their deserved success.
