Manchester Central cements itself as the venue of choice for medical events with the return of several leading medical associations.

The British Cardiovascular Society (BCS) has committed to bring its annual conference and exhibition to the north of England’s leading conference and events venue until 2023.

BCS returned to the industry-leading venue for the eleventh year this month; attracting more than 3,000 healthcare professionals across three days.

Claire Cartwright, Head of Education at BCS, said: “The British Cardiovascular Society is looking forward to returning to Manchester Central until 2023. The society receives a consistently high level of support from the venue with everything from audio visual services, event planning and catering to pre-event and on-site assistance – delivering a smooth and professionally run conference with high delegate numbers year on year.”

The Health Service Journal (HSJ) Patient Safety Congress has also confirmed that it will return to Manchester Central until 2019 – breaking the event’s tradition of being hosted at a different venue each year.

Fiona Miller, Group Events Director at HSJ, said: “We’re delighted to be returning to Manchester Central to host the Patient Safety Congress and Awards – the largest and most important event in patient safety in the UK.

“Delivering such a large event over two days with multiple streams is no easy feat, especially with an awards evening on day one of the congress; but Manchester Central has supported us all the way, which is why we have chosen to return to the venue in 2018 and 2019.”

Shaun Hinds, CEO of Manchester Central, said: “We’re delighted that so many medical associations are continuing to choose Manchester Central to host their meetings and conferences. The city has firmly established itself as a world leader in medical research; which combined with Manchester Central’s reputation for delivering truly outstanding events makes us a fitting choice. We look forward to further building on this success in future years.”

Manchester Central will build-upon this success later in the year when it hosts Vascular Society for Great Britain and Ireland’s Annual Scientific Meeting – confirmed to return to Manchester Central biennially until 2021.
