The key appointment will see Mia, who joins from events group and venue finding agency Sundial, report directly to Meeting Industry Association chief executive Jane Longhurst.
In the crucial new role, Mia will be drawing on her 20 years’ experience of working in the hospitality industry and knowledge of hotels, venue finding and teambuilding, to help the Meetings Industry Association reach its aggressive membership growth, accreditation and sponsorship targets.
“When I became aware that this new position was being made available, I thought it was too good an opportunity to pass by,” said Mia who had been working for Sundial since 2004. “It’s a great honour to work for one of the sector’s leading trade associations, which is so highly regarded by the industry.”
Mia will be bringing lots of energy and enthusiasm to the role. She said: “I’m really passionate about the industry we work in. The value of the membership offered by the Meetings Industry Association is fantastic and I will be concentrating on helping the team to spread the word even further.”
