There’s no getting around it – 2016 will be remembered as the year that the UK voted to leave the European Union, Donald Trump was voted U.S. President, many of our favourite cultural icons sadly died and too often, it seemed like there was nothing but bad news around every corner.
Throughout it all, venues and event planners have continued to provide clients with innovative solutions that allow them to meet face-to-face, thanks to an industry worth £42.3billion to the UK economy.
This is an industry that continues to grow, evidenced by 83% of agencies who expected to increase their headcount during 2016 and 67% of organisers who expect their events to grow during the next 12 months, according to EventBrite’s Pulse Report 2016.
But ours is also an industry that’s always been affected by political and economic change, plus global current affairs. So to round this year off, here at venuefinder.com, we’ve gone out to talk to venues, associations and agencies about their expectations for the next 12 months.
What are their hopes and fears? What challenges lie ahead? And what change will impact their businesses the most? This is what they had to say. Welcome to Trend Watch 2017, a White Paper published exclusively by venuefinder.com.
