London voted favourite UK city for the 6th year running
London’s hotels have swept the board by boasting twelve of the top 15 UK Business Hotels, at the annual Condé Nast Traveller Readers’ Choice Awards 2016.
The awards from the readers of one of the most popular travel magazines in the world show how London is dominating the business hotel market with Rosewood London, Claridge’s, and Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park topping the list.
Last year, London welcomed 3.7m business visitors, 13% more than in 2014, and they spent £4.1bn1
London as a destination has also won two prestigious accolades. The capital came out on top as Best UK City for the 6th year running, and Best UK City for Restaurants and Bars for the second consecutive year in the reader-nominated awards ceremony at Soho’s Ham Yard Hotel last night.
Three of the city’s spas also topped the UK Hotel Spas category; The Spa at Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, The Bulgari Spa at Bulgari Hotel & Residences, and ESPA Life at Corinthia Hotel London.
Tracy Halliwell MBE, Director of Business Tourism & Major Events at London & Partners said: “These awards are a welcome reminder that London is a world-class destination for meetings and events, climbing the ICCA rankings up to 5th place this year and ranking 2nd for number of delegates actually attending events in the city.
“The capital boasts a variety of venues and hotels across London ranging from historic and quirky to green and high tech – so it’s fantastic to hear that Condé Nast readers have voted for so many”.
