The Meetings Industry Association (mia) will be helping members tap into the £10 billion* UK wedding market in its latest event.
As the popularity of marriage is rising again after 40 years of decline according to figures revealed by the Office for National Statistics, the mia will be giving venue managers all the tools to tap into this growing market.
Sales and leadership training gurus Rehan Alam and Sue White from Inspiring Training will lead the powerful and engaging ‘Selling the Wedding Dream’ session on 22 June at Chandos House, London.
During this entertaining and interactive workshop, they will discuss the different types of weddings currently in demand including a focus on the particular skills and knowledge required to secure business from the £300 million Asian wedding market. Delegates will learn the difference between Hindu, Muslim and Sikh weddings as well as an appreciation of their varying beliefs, values, customs and ceremonies.
Meanwhile, they will review each venue’s competitive offering to help attendees understand their strengths, weaknesses and unique selling points while exploring ways to drive more enquiries as well as the use of features and benefits to sell the dream and increase conversions from show rounds.
Jane Longhurst, chief executive of the mia, said: “This informal and practical event is a must for any venue hoping to increase their revenue from this growing sector. Attendees will leave ‘Selling the wedding dream’ excited about the discussed ideas and strategies and be in a position to immediately start implementing them in the right way.”
