A selection of Canary Wharf’s best venues recently hosted an ‘Agent Destination Day’, working together to promote Canary Wharf as a vibrant and central location to do business and to host all types of events. The once former Dockyard is now home to some of World’s largest financial institutions and currently accommodates around 150,000 workers. It is also served by high quality venues and hotels facilitating the many event and leisure needs for the area. Canary Wharf is fantastically served by convenient transport links via the Jubilee Line (10 minutes from London Bridge), the Docklands Light Railway (15 minutes from Bank) and frequent river boat services, with Crossrail due to open its doors from 2018. Canary Wharf is also a great place to hold events, with a host of excellent venues and hotels offering superb quality and flexibility for anything from meetings to conferences, or even to celebrate a private occasion. Taking part in this event were CCT Venues-Plus (South Quay and Bank Street), DeVere Venues, Hilton Canary Wharf, Doubletree by Hilton Docklands Riverside and the Four Seasons
Agents were treated to a boat ride from London Bridge Pier, followed by breakfast and a presentation at CCT Venues Plus-South Quay. They continued to Hilton Canary Wharf where agents took part in an ‘Omelette Challenge’, which was followed by another boat trip across the river to Doubletree by Hilton Docklands. A trip back to DeVere Venues for afternoon tea and cocktail making at the Four Seasons, ended with a finale dinner and entertainment at CCT Venues Plus-Bank Street looking over the skyline of London from the 32nd floor. Accommodation was also kindly provided by the hotels for those attending. A packed agenda, but with overwhelmingly positive feedback from all the agents who attended, the event was a great success, displaying the best Canary Wharf has to offer for the M&E Market.
James Russ, Operations Director for CCT Venues said:
‘As a company we have been operating venues in Canary Wharf since 2008 and we have witnessed a monumental transformation of the area, which is set to continue. We have always been proud to work in the Canary Wharf district and I believe with the quality of the venues and hotels based in the area and taking part in this annual Destination Day, demonstrates the area as a great place to host an event.’
